A Legacy That Began with A Call

A Story From The Owner:

It all started with one man’s decision.
One moment in a phone booth, flipping through the Yellow Pages, finding a 12-step meeting, and asking for help.

At that point, his life had fallen apart.
His family was broken. His kids were lost. And he couldn’t stop drinking.
He was being taken care of by my mother—his daughter—who would find him passed out on the floor, feed him, watch over him through seizures, and hope he’d survive the night… only to find him drunk again the next day.

But that one call changed everything.

He didn’t know it then, but that single moment of courage wouldn’t just save his life.
It would change the entire trajectory of mine.
That man was my grandfather, Frank Costanzo.

Frank got sober. He found peace.

And like so many who find freedom, he turned around and gave it away.

He dedicated his life—and my grandmother did too—to helping other alcoholics and their families heal from what felt like a hopeless disease.
We’ve seen heartbreak. We’ve seen pain.

But we’ve also seen families come back together.
We’ve seen people who thought it was over build something beautiful from the ashes.

When I started drinking, my grandfather fought for me.
He never gave up. It was a wild, painful ride—but because he had gone before me, I had a rock.

I had a lighthouse.

And when my life spiraled, I knew exactly what to do… because of him.

Years later, I got to return that love.

When Frank was near the end, facing Alzheimer’s, he was still teaching me how to live, how to show up, and how to love with no strings attached.

I sat beside him, held his hand, and thanked him from the bottom of my heart.

I told him I would carry on what he started. I would keep the ripple going.

And today, that promise becomes real.

Serenity Peak exists because of one man’s decision to change.

His choice gave me my life, and now I’m passing it on—through this retreat, through the people we serve, and through the hope we offer.

So now the question becomes:

Will you be the one who changes the course of your family’s future?

Will you be the one who ends the cycle?

It doesn’t take perfection. It doesn’t take a plan.

It just takes one brave moment—the same one Frank had all those years ago.

One step. One call. One decision to say: “I’m ready.”
And when you do, we’ll be here—ready to walk with you.

Your story isn’t over. It’s just beginning.
